The Tommy Burns USATF indoor meet held on 1/31/10 had a lot of exciting races but none was more exciting then the youth 3000 meter race. The race featured a loaded field and for the first half it was anybody's race. Two runners eventually broke away from the pack and had their own shootout until the very end. Brandon Freeman from Prospect Park Track Club and Samuel Mercoli from QuickSilver Track Club were one and two all the way until the finish line where Freeman inched out Mercoli for the win. Brandon's first (10:32.90) and Samuel's second (10:33.20) were two of the fastest 3000m times by thirteen year olds on the Toms River, NJ track for quite sometime. Great Job Guys!
